Setups

A competition specifically designed for all those who treat their PC desk like it's their own palace. Colorful lights, figurines, pop-ups, decorative plants, custom tables... Anything goes. As long as it's organized and perfect. Naturally, the photo must be taken at a party.

1- Only those with the accreditation of Euskal Encounter 33 participants will be able to participate.

2- Each participant may only submit their own setup, which will be from the Euskal Encounter 33 stand (the photos/videos to be submitted will be taken at the party).

3- Registration will be carried out via the Euskal Encounter 33 intranet.

4- The ratings will be carried out by the organisation.

5- We understand setup as a set of several parts, such as the monitor, peripherals, decoration, etc., which should be in the same state as they would normally be used.

6- The setup will be kept clean throughout the party, and there will be surprise visitors.

7- The scores obtained will be uploaded to the website and Discord after the trophy presentation.

8- If the setup includes a simulator, it will be considered part of the setup, not the setup itself.

9- To rate the setups, the points indicated below will be valued and an average of the total will be calculated.

10- Scores will range from -1 to 10, and some aspects to be assessed may be given negative scores.

11- The setup must have a theme chosen by the participant; the theme can be anything: movies, TV shows, video games, etc. An example is in the photo above.

The characteristics to be evaluated will be the following:

1. Aesthetics:

  • General Design: How the setup looks overall, including color harmony, organization, and component layout.
  • Lighting: Use of RGB lights, how they integrate into the setup, and their visual impact.
  • Theme: Whether the setup follows a specific theme (e.g., futuristic, minimalist, gamer, etc.) and how it stays consistent with that theme.

2. Functionality:

  • Ergonomics: Comfort and ease of use, including the layout of the keyboard, mouse, and monitor, as well as the chair and desk.
  • Accessibility: Ease of access to USB ports, buttons, and other necessary elements.
  • Cable Management: Organizing and concealing cables to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.

3. Innovation and Creativity:

  • Creative Solutions: Implementation of unique or innovative ideas in the design and organization of the setup.
  • Custom Modifications: Modifications made to standard components to improve their functionality or aesthetics.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • General Condition: Cleaning and maintaining the setup, showing care and attention to detail.

5. Personalization and Theming:

  • Custom Elements: Inclusion of custom components or accessories that add a unique touch to the setup.
  • Integration of Themed Elements: How decorative or themed elements integrate with the rest of the setup.

6. Presentation:

  • Explanation and Justification: How the setup is presented to the judges, including clarity and enthusiasm in explaining the design and the choices made.

7. Use of Space:

  • Space Optimization: How the available space has been used, those setups that invade the space of the teammate next to them will be penalized.

12- Each participant must submit a mini-clip of a maximum of 30 seconds with an official Euskal Encounter 33 wallpaper to prove that the setup is their own, accompanied by a maximum of 5 photos.

13- If there are any doubts on the application of the regulations, the Hardware organisation will decide on this application.

14- Any breach of any of the rules will lead to the disqualification of the participant, as well as any cheating in terms of participation or authorship of the work involved. Depending on the seriousness of the breach, other measures may be taken.

15- All entrants agree to the conditions and rules of the SETUPS competition.
